In this role, you will be responsible for performing emissions testing and ensuring vehicles meet state and federal environmental standards. Your expertise will help keep vehicles running efficiently while contributing to a cleaner environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about automotive technology, environmental compliance, and vehicle maintenance. You will work in a fast-paced environment where precision, mechanical knowledge, and excellent customer service are essential. Responsibilities Conduct thorough emissions tests on a variety of vehicle makes and models using specialized diagnostic equipment. Inspect vehicles for mechanical issues that could affect emissions performance, including exhaust systems and related components. Utilize hand tools, power tools, and automotive repair equipment to perform necessary adjustments or repairs to ensure vehicles pass smog standards. Maintain accurate records of each test performed, including results and any repairs or adjustments made. Assist customers by explaining testing procedures, results, and recommended next steps in a clear and professional manner. Follow all safety protocols during testing procedures, including heavy lifting when handling vehicle parts or equipment. Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with environmental regulations and safety standards. Experience Prior experience working with automotive repair or vehicle maintenance is highly preferred. Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems, including exhaust components and engine diagnostics. Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, and automotive service equipment. Knowledge of auto body repair or auto restoration processes is a plus but not required. Strong understanding of emissions testing procedures and environmental compliance standards. Mechanic experience or certifications related to automotive repair will be considered an advantage. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during vehicle inspections or repairs.
