Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Smog Check Technician and become a vital part of ensuring vehicles meet environmental standards! In this energetic role, you will perform comprehensive emissions testing and vehicle inspections, helping customers keep their vehicles compliant with state regulations. Your mechanical expertise and passion for automotive care will drive your success as you deliver top-quality service in a fast-paced, rewarding environment. This paid position offers the opportunity to develop specialized skills in automotive emissions testing while contributing to environmental protection and vehicle safety. Duties Conduct thorough smog checks on a variety of vehicle makes and models using specialized testing equipment Perform basic vehicle inspections to identify mechanical issues that may affect emissions compliance Utilize hand tools, power tools, and automotive repair equipment to prepare vehicles for testing and repairs if needed Maintain accurate records of each test, including results, vehicle details, and any necessary repairs or adjustments Assist customers by explaining test procedures, results, and recommended next steps clearly and professionally Ensure all testing procedures adhere strictly to state regulations and safety standards Support vehicle maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or auto body adjustments when required, utilizing automotive service skills Experience Previous mechanic experience or automotive repair background is highly preferred Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems including engine performance, exhaust systems, and emissions controls Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and auto repair equipment is essential Experience with auto restoration or auto body repair is a plus but not required Ability to lift heavy objects safely during vehicle inspections or repairs Strong understanding of automotive service procedures and safety protocols Prior experience in auto diagnostics or emissions testing is advantageous but not mandatory Join us to be part of a dedicated team committed to environmental responsibility and automotive excellence! Pay:
$22.00 - $32.00 per hour
