Automotive Service Writer

Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Service Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, facilitating communication between clients and our service department. This role is essential in ensuring that all service requests are accurately documented and that customer needs are met efficiently. The Service Writer will leverage their mechanical knowledge and automotive expertise to provide exceptional service and support. Duties Greet customers and assess their service needs, ensuring a positive experience from the outset. Document customer concerns and vehicle issues accurately, aligning them with appropriate service recommendations. Coordinate with technicians to relay information regarding automotive diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance requirements. Prepare detailed work orders for service requests, including necessary parts and labor estimates. Follow up with customers on the status of their vehicles and communicate any changes or additional work needed. Maintain organized records of customer interactions, service history, and invoices. Ensure compliance with dealership policies and procedures while providing top-notch customer service. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge to understand vehicle systems and repairs effectively. Proficiency in automotive diagnostics to identify issues accurately. Familiarity with automotive repair processes, including tire service. Excellent communication skills to convey technical information clearly to customers. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
