Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Smog Technician, where you will play a vital role in ensuring vehicles meet emissions standards and operate efficiently. This energetic position involves performing precise emissions testing, vehicle inspections, and minor repairs to help customers comply with environmental regulations. Duties Conduct thorough smog tests on a variety of vehicle makes and models using specialized diagnostic equipment and power tools Perform vehicle inspections to identify mechanical issues that may affect emissions or overall performance Utilize hand tools and automotive repair techniques to make necessary adjustments or minor repairs to ensure vehicles pass emissions standards Maintain accurate records of testing procedures, results, and repairs performed for each vehicle Assist customers by explaining test results, recommended repairs, and next steps in a clear, professional manner Support vehicle maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and basic auto body repairs as needed Lift heavy components safely during repair or inspection processes, adhering to safety protocols Skills Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot automotive systems effectively Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and automotive service equipment Experience in vehicle maintenance, auto body repair, or auto restoration projects is highly desirable Mechanic experience that demonstrates understanding of automotive repair procedures and safety standards Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining precision during inspections or repairs Knowledge of emissions testing procedures and environmental compliance regulations Excellent communication skills to explain technical information clearly to customers Join us in making a difference by helping vehicles run cleaner and more efficiently!
