Job Description

Job Summary A stable organization in Valley Center, CA is seeking a full-time Mechanic I to support essential public service operations by maintaining and repairing government-owned vehicles and equipment. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for an experienced Mechanic who takes pride in safe, accurate, and reliable fleet maintenance. This role offers consistent weekday hours, competitive pay, and the opportunity to work on a diverse fleet that may include light-duty vehicles, heavy equipment, diesel equipment, and specialized service vehicles.   • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on fleet vehicles and equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and equipment performance issues using electronic diagnostic tools.
  • Complete preventative maintenance services to support safe and reliable fleet operations.
  • Troubleshoot and repair a variety of vehicle, truck, and heavy equipment systems.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, service documentation, and repair notes.
  • Follow all safety procedures, organizational standards, and compliance requirements while performing repairs. Compensation and Benefits
  • Direct hire position.
  • Full-time schedule.
  • Pay range: $70,000 to $80,000 per year.
  • Hourly compensation: $34.00 per hour for candidates without a Commercial Driver's License.
  • Hourly compensation: $38.00 per hour for candidates with a Class A Commercial Driver's License.
  • Normal operating hours: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
  • Summer operating hours: Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
