This position is responsible for inspecting, documenting, and servicing automotive lifts and related equipment to ensure OSHA compliance with industry safety standards and manufacturer requirements. In addition to lift inspections, the ideal candidate will have experience installing, servicing, troubleshooting, or inspecting automotive shop equipment systems, including air compressors, compressed air systems, waste oil and fluid management systems, lubrication equipment, and vehicle exhaust systems. This role requires a strong mechanical background, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently at customer locations. Key Responsibilities Perform inspections of automotive lifts, including two-post, four-post, scissor, alignment, mobile column, and specialty lifts. Evaluate structural, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components for safety and operational compliance. Inspect and assess automotive service equipment, including compressed air systems, lubrication systems, fluid handling equipment, and exhaust extraction systems. Identify equipment deficiencies, safety hazards, improper installations, and maintenance requirements. Prepare detailed inspection reports and documentation. Recommend corrective actions, repairs, or equipment replacement. Communicate inspection findings and compliance requirements to supervisor/customers. Maintain condition of tools, testing equipment, and company vehicles. Travel to customer facilities throughout assigned service areas. Follow all applicable safety regulations and company procedures. Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED. Experience with automotive lift equipment, industrial maintenance, mechanical service, or a related field. Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, equipment manuals, and safety standards. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Ability to work independently and manage multiple customer sites. Preferred Experience inspecting, installing, repairing, or servicing automotive lifts. Experience with air compressor installation, maintenance, and repair. Experience with compressed air piping and distribution systems, including compressor service. Experience installing or servicing oil distribution systems, waste oil systems, and fluid handling equipment. Experience installing, servicing, or troubleshooting vehicle exhaust extraction systems. Knowledge of shop equipment ALI Lift Inspector Certification or ability to obtain certification. Automotive, industrial maintenance, electrical, hydraulic, or mechanical certifications. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, and kneeling. Ability to work at heights and around heavy equipment.
