Based in Golden, Foundation Vehicles designs and manufactures composite shells for Mercedes Sprinter, Ford Transit, Ford E-Series, and heavy-duty truck platforms. Position Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on Assembler to build advanced composite panels into high-performance vehicle bodies from square one to final delivery. This role is based in a clean, structured shop environment that offers daily variety, and excellent problem-solving opportunities.
Core Responsibilities:
Construct composite body structures utilizing specialized automotive adhesives and sealants. Mount structural aluminum extrusions, exterior trim, windows, and entry doors. Securely integrate vehicle bodies and subframes onto truck and van chassis. Utilize power tools, hand tools, and shop lifting equipment safely. Read blueprints and technical drawings to ensure precise assembly to specification. Conduct comprehensive fit-and-finish inspections to verify structural and seal integrity. Safely operate forklifts to stage materials and transport components across the shop floor. Diagnose and resolve mechanical assembly issues alongside senior fabricators. Maintain a pristine, organized, and safety-compliant workspace.
What We Are Looking For:
Background:
Prior experience in mechanical assembly, custom van/RV builds, finish carpentry, fabrication, welding, or auto body repair.
Technical Skills:
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret technical layouts and safely operate shop equipment (drills, saws, grinders, etc.).
Equipment:
Previous forklift experience is highly valued (we will provide training/certification if needed).
Mindset:
Extreme attention to detail, strong self-motivation, punctuality, and pride in craftsmanship.
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly and comfortably work from ladders or elevated platforms.
Bonus Points:
A personal passion for off-road vehicles, overland trailers, RVs, or custom fabrication.
