In this energetic role, you will assist experienced mechanics in diagnosing, repairing, and servicing a wide range of vehicles, ensuring safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities Assist mechanics with vehicle inspections, repairs, and maintenance tasks across various systems including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and electrical components. Support the replacement of parts such as shocks & struts, tires, belts, and filters to ensure optimal vehicle performance. Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to perform repairs under supervision. Help with oil changes, wheel alignments, tire service, and basic vehicle diagnostics to identify issues accurately. Maintain a clean and organized workspace to promote safety and efficiency during daily operations. Follow schematics and technical manuals to assist with complex repairs involving automotive electrical systems or ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems). Support the shop's quality standards by ensuring all work meets safety regulations and manufacturer specifications. Requirements Prior experience or familiarity with dealership or automotive repair shop environments is preferred. Basic mechanical knowledge of automotive systems including powertrain, diesel engines, auto body repair, and welding techniques. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and automotive diagnostic equipment confidently. Strong understanding of schematics for electrical systems and automotive diagnostics processes. Knowledge of automotive maintenance procedures such as oil changes, brake repairs, wheel alignments, suspension work, and tire service. Familiarity with GM vehicles or other makes is a plus but not required. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with team members and clients. Willingness to learn new skills related to ADAS technology, auto estimating software, welding techniques, and advanced automotive electrical systems.
