Automotive Technician About Sound FX Automotive:
Are you a passionate car audio and mobile electronics enthusiast with an eye for perfection? Sound FX Automotive, Delmarva's premier automotive customization company since 1992, is looking to expand our elite team. We are seeking an experienced 12-Volt Electronics Installer for our state-of-the-art facilities. In this role, you will be working with industry-leading brands to deliver everything from premium daily upgrades to world-class, audiophile-grade custom builds. Salary & Benefits:
Pay Range:
$50,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year (Commensurate with experience)

Responsibilities & Duties:
Install a wide variety of aftermarket electronics including premium car sound systems, amplifiers, DSP tuning, remote starters, backup cameras, dash cams, and modern lighting systems. Integrate aftermarket tech into modern vehicle data networks (CAN-bus systems) while seamlessly retaining steering wheel controls and factory safety features. Disassemble and reassemble high-end vehicle dashboards, door panels, and complex interior trims safely without damage. Troubleshoot and diagnose automotive electrical system hardware using digital multi-meters, wiring diagrams, and relay logic. Maintain precise wiring routing and an ultra-clean workspace, ensuring every job meets our reputation for factory-trained excellence. Test and tune all systems thoroughly to deliver an exceptional, hassle-free customer experience upon vehicle delivery.
Qualifications & Skills:
Experience:
Previous professional 12-volt installation or automotive electrical experience is required.
Skills:
Strong automotive electrical knowledge, multi-tasking abilities, and a drive to deliver timely, top-quality results. Fabrication (Plus): Experience with custom speaker adapters, CNC routing, 3D printing, or custom subwoofer enclosures is a massive plus.
License:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is strictly required.
Certifications:
MECP certification is highly preferred but we provide ongoing training to help you level up.
