Job Description

Automotive Mechanic Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Automotive Mechanic to join our family of companies. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing company vehicles and equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with strong diagnostic abilities and a commitment to quality workmanship. Duties Perform routine maintenance and inspections on company vehicles, including oil changes, brake service, tire rotations, fluid checks, and preventative maintenance. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. Utilize computerized diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and testing devices to identify and troubleshoot vehicle problems. Repair or replace faulty components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, suspension components, fuel systems, cooling systems, and electrical systems. Perform welding and fabrication work as needed to repair vehicle frames, trailers, equipment, and related components. Conduct inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety and operational standards. Maintain accurate service records, repair documentation, and maintenance schedules. Respond to breakdowns and emergency repair situations to minimize downtime. Work closely with management and operations teams to prioritize repairs and keep vehicles in service. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while adhering to company safety policies and procedures. Requirements Proven experience as an Automotive Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, Fleet Mechanic, or similar role. Strong knowledge of vehicle diagnostics, repair procedures, and preventative maintenance programs. Experience working with gasoline and diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, steering systems, and electrical systems. Proficiency with diagnostic software, scan tools, multimeters, and other automotive testing equipment. Ability to read and interpret service manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation. Welding and fabrication experience is a plus. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. CDL is a plus but not required. ASE Certifications are preferred but not required. Excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
