Job Description
Duties
Customer Intake:
Greet customers warmly, listen to their vehicle concerns, and accurately document symptoms and service requests on repair orders. Consultative Sales:
Translate complex technical diagnostics from technicians into clear, understandable explanations for customers. Present repair recommendations, explain the value of preventative maintenance, and secure authorizations for service. Estimating & Billing:
Create accurate cost estimates for parts and labor. Update customers on vehicle status, timeline changes, and final billing. Relationship Building:
Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by providing transparent communication and resolving any customer concerns professionally. Parts Sourcing:
Order required parts efficiently from vendors, ensuring a balance between cost, quality, and fast delivery times to keep shop workflow moving. Core & Returns Management:
Handle parts returns, process cores, and track vendor credits to ensure accurate financial bookkeeping. Technician Collaboration:
Work closely with automotive technicians to ensure they have the exact parts needed for each job, minimizing vehicle downtime.Requirements Experience:
Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in the automotive industry (as a service advisor, parts specialist, or service writer) is highly preferred. Technical Knowledge:
A solid understanding of automotive components, basic mechanical systems, and standard repair terminology. Attention toDetail:
Meticulous documentation skills are essential for tracking parts orders, vehicle histories, and billing accuracy. Sales & Communication Skills:
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust, explain technical concepts simply, and comfortably ask for the sale. Multi-tasking Ability:
Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, balance phone calls, walk-in customers, and parts ordering simultaneously. Computer Literacy:
Experience with automotive shop management software (SMS), parts cataloging systems, and basic point-of-sale (POS) systems.Note:
