About the Role As a Heavy Equipment Fleet Technician, you will serve as a vital contributor to our operational success by ensuring our heavy-duty vehicle fleet remains in peak condition. You will utilize your expertise in diesel engine diagnostics and hydraulic systems to maximize vehicle uptime and fleet reliability. Responsibilities Execute comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel-powered engines to maintain optimal performance. Manage complex emissions systems, including EGR, DEF, and advanced aftertreatment components. Implement proactive preventative maintenance schedules to extend the lifecycle of our heavy-duty assets. Troubleshoot intricate mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic failures to restore equipment functionality rapidly. Document all service activities accurately to ensure compliance with safety standards and operational protocols. Coordinate shop workflow and tool management to streamline repair processes and minimize downtime. Collaborate with leadership to provide transparent updates on fleet health and repair timelines. Qualifications Required Skills Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in diesel engine repair and maintenance. Proficiency in troubleshooting heavy-duty truck components and electrical systems. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage shop-level responsibilities. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Skills Formal certification as a Diesel Technician or equivalent vocational training. Prior experience maintaining refuse trucks or similar heavy-duty fleet equipment. Advanced knowledge of modern emissions control technologies.
