Ford Certified Transmission Technician 2.7 2.7 out of 5 stars Port Charlotte, FL 33952 Full-time Jarrett Ford Automotive Group (Jarrett Ford of Charlotte County, Fl.) 7 reviews Full-time Job Description The Transmission Technician is responsible for servicing and repairing vehicles as assigned by the Service Advisor or the Service Manager. In addition, the Transmission Technician must have special knowledge regarding the diagnosis, repair, and replacement of vehicle transmissions. The ideal Transmission Technician has a high school diploma/GED, an unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record, at least one year of dealer-level or large facility experience, post secondary automotive training, ASE certification (or is willing to obtain certification), and a strong technical performance record.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Expertly diagnoses issues based upon experience, analysis, and testing; in particular, vehicle transmissions Maintains leading-edge knowledge of automotive diagnosis technology, digital manuals, and reference materials Possesses an increasingly broad knowledge of how vehicles' complex components work and interact Performs routine service inspections and tests and lubricates engines and other major components Repairs automobiles and light trucks that run on gasoline, electricity, or alternative fuels, such as ethanol Adapts to rapidly changing technologies in the automotive industry and in the diagnostics arena
QUALIFICATIONS
