Job Description

Summary of position: The Tire and Lube Technician is responsible for performing general vehicle repairs, maintenance and diagnosis.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Service customer vehicles while ensuring quality workmanship. Use diagnostic tools to identify problems with vehicles, including engine, electrical and mechanical systems. Perform tire repairs, including sealing punctures and replacing valve stems. Install and perform tire maintenance. Perform oil change and/or transmission service and filters. Perform tire rotation. Road test vehicles. Ensure the service center is clean and safe. Install batteries and check electrical systems. Must use PPE, dollies, jacks, hoists, lifts and various tools in accordance with proper use and safety guidelines. Use proper ergonomics when lifting to avoid strains.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize tasks. Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations including fluid specifications and volume measurements.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent, required. 1 year work experience in lube/tire technician duties, preferred. Must demonstrate working understanding of tire/lube service procedures, mechanical skills and the ability to lift heavy equipment. Strong customer service skills and effective communication are essential. US work authorization.
Required Licenses or Certifications:
Driver's License, unrestricted. Maintain
TIA & ALI
certification upon training received.
Work Environment/Expectations:
Work will occur in well-lit, well-ventilated repair shop locations. Exposure is grease, car exhaust and chemicals is expected. Background noise from coworkers, vehicles and various tools is expected. Maintain regular, punctual attendance. Must wear required uniform.
Physical Requirements :
Bending, squatting and working under vehicles is expected. Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds routinely. Use of power tools and mechanic parts are used daily. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to walk, talk, listen and speak clearly. Use of fine motor skills is expected. Must be able to raise arms above the head and shoulders for extended periods of time.
