$76.68 Tool Allowance and $12 for each Automotive Service Excellence [ASE] Certification)

6:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., 4/10-hour days/week, either Friday or Monday off; occasional overtime required.

. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Valid Florida Driver's License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment. Must obtain a FL Class B CDL Permit with Air Brake Endorsements within 90 days of hire and obtain a FL Class B CDL with Air Brake, Tanker, and Hazmat Endorsements within 180 days of appointment. Hearing Loss Test required for selected candidate. Must provide own hand tools. Use the Job ID based on the Position Location as follows Location Job ID 580 State Market Road, Pahokee 35224 Maintains and repairs a wide variety of automotive and specialized equipment and heavy construction equipment. Performs difficult and skilled mechanical work in diesel and/or automotive equipment and advanced automotive computer diagnostics.

QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires qualified applicants to possess the following: Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of three (3) years of experience as an automotive/heavy equipment mechanic with at least one (1) year of experience performing repairs to heavy diesel equipment and/or one (1) year of experience performing repairs on advanced automotive computers.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred qualifications include: Using scanner tools/equipment analyzer/On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) II systems, Three (3) years of experience troubleshooting and repairing diesel and gas engine systems, Auxiliary Power Systems (APS), hydraulic systems and controls, welding and fabrication, heavy truck/heavy equipment powertrain and drivelines, Completion of a vocational/trade school program in Automotive/Heavy Equipment or related field, and Front-end alignment, Current ASE Master Technician Certification (copy of Certification must be uploaded to online application by 5:00 P.M. on the closing date).
