Duties Perform thorough inspections of used vehicles to identify necessary repairs and cosmetic improvements Conduct mechanical repairs including engine diagnostics, powertrain repairs, and diesel engine servicing Utilize schematics and automotive electrical systems knowledge to troubleshoot complex issues efficiently Repair or replace vehicle components such as brakes, suspension, steering, and alignment systems Execute auto body repairs including welding, dent removal, and cosmetic refinishing to restore vehicle appearance Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicle parts Ensure all work complies with manufacturer specifications and safety standards while maintaining high quality standards Test drive vehicles post-repair to verify proper operation and performance before returning to inventory Skills Proven dealership experience or extensive mechanic background in automotive repair and maintenance Strong understanding of automotive diagnostics and electrical systems including ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) Ability to read schematics and technical manuals effectively for complex repairs Expertise in powertrain systems, alignment procedures, and vehicle maintenance protocols Skilled in auto body repair techniques such as welding and cosmetic refinishing Familiarity with GM vehicles or similar makes is a plus but not required Proficient with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic software Mechanical knowledge combined with excellent customer service skills to communicate repair needs clearly Experience working with automotive electrical systems and troubleshooting electronic components Join our team as a Used Car Reconditioning Technician where your skills will directly impact the quality of our used vehicle inventory.
