- Full-time Traveling Technician Vintage Modern, INC | Buford, Georgia (Headquarters) with extensive nationwide travel About the Role The Traveling Technician is one of the most important customer-facing positions at Vintage Modern.
You are the person we send into the homes and garages of our clients — people who have invested significant money into a Vintage Bronco and expect a level of service that matches that investment. Our clients are predominantly high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals, including business owners, executives, celebrities, professional athletes, and family offices. The way you carry yourself in their home is the way they will judge our brand. This is not a typical field service role. We need someone who is an exceptional mechanic and an exceptional ambassador. You must be able to diagnose a complex electrical issue in a 6,000-square-foot garage in the morning, have a polished conversation with the client over coffee at lunch, and then be on a plane to the next city that night. The technical bar is high. The interpersonal bar is higher. You will travel approximately four days at a time, frequently, throughout the year. You should be fully comfortable navigating airports, managing tight connections, handling rental cars, staying in hotels for extended stretches, and adjusting on the fly when flights are delayed or itineraries change. Travel is the rhythm of this job, not an exception to it. Who You Are Before the technical qualifications, this is the person we are looking for: Polished and well-spoken. You can hold a confident, articulate conversation with a CEO, a celebrity, or a billionaire and make them feel taken care of. Your manners are impeccable. You know when to speak and when to listen. Presentable. You arrive clean, properly dressed in Vintage Modern attire, and conduct yourself with the bearing of a brand representative — because that is what you are. Discreet. You will be inside the private homes, garages, and properties of well-known individuals. You do not discuss clients, share photos, name-drop, or post about where you are or who you are with. Confidentiality is non-negotiable. Resourceful. When something does not go to plan — and on the road it often does not — you solve the problem. You do not wait to be told what to do. Composed under pressure. Flight cancellations, missing parts, a vehicle that will not start the morning the client wants to drive it — none of it shakes you in front of the customer. Mechanically gifted. You can diagnose problems that other techs cannot. You understand vehicles deeply, not just procedurally. Independent. You will be operating without a shop, without a manager standing over you, and often without a teammate. You own the outcome. Client Experience Responsibilities Represent Vintage Modern as the on-site face of the brand at every client visit. Communicate proactively with clients before, during, and after each visit — confirming arrival times, explaining the scope of work clearly without condescension or jargon, and confirming completion before departure. Maintain a polished personal appearance at all times on-site: clean Vintage Modern apparel, neat grooming, and professional bearing. Treat the client's property — driveway, garage floor, walls, surrounding vehicles, fixtures — as if it were more valuable than your own. Use floor protection, fender covers, and seat protection without exception. Maintain strict confidentiality regarding the identity, location, and personal lives of clients. No social media posts, no photos of clients or their property, no discussion of client work outside the company. Handle unexpected requests gracefully. Know what falls inside the scope of the visit, what does not, and how to redirect politely to your manager or the customer experience team when appropriate. Escalate any client concern or complaint to leadership immediately and clearly — no surprises. Technical Responsibilities Travel to client locations — primarily private residences, but also commercial properties, storage facilities, and event sites — to perform service, warranty repairs, and updates on Vintage Broncos. Perform warranty repairs as defined in each Repair Order. Inspect the vehicle using the Repair Order Inspection Sheet at every visit. Diagnose, repair, and replace faulty mechanical, electrical, and electronic components. Perform physical and electronic updates to bring vehicles to current Vintage Bronco standards. Use diagnostic tools and equipment to accurately identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues. Follow all safety protocols to protect yourself, the client, the client's property, and the vehicle. Keep accurate, complete records of every repair, the parts used, and time spent. Repair Orders must be completed through the Teams portal before leaving any vehicle. Coordinate with the in-house service and parts teams to ensure the right tools, parts, and information are with you before each trip. Travel Requirements Comfortable flying and on the road approximately four days at a time, on a frequent and recurring basis throughout the year. Highly experienced and self-sufficient with all aspects of business air travel: booking changes, TSA PreCheck / CLEAR / Global Entry, navigating connections, managing tools and parts as checked baggage, and handling delays or cancellations independently. Confident renting and driving in unfamiliar cities, including in urban traffic and gated/private communities. Comfortable staying in hotels for extended stretches and managing personal logistics on the road (meals, laundry, downtime) without it affecting performance. Flexible with schedule, including some weekends and holidays as client needs dictate. Valid U.S. passport, or willing to obtain one within 30 days of hire (international client visits do occur). Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Demonstrated mechanical and diagnostic ability, ideally with classic or modern Broncos, classic vehicles, or restomod builds. Proficient with diagnostic tools and electronic vehicle systems. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Self-sufficient — able to learn quickly and operate independently with minimal oversight. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent verbal communication; able to explain technical concepts to non-technical clients clearly and respectfully. Professional appearance and manners; comfortable in formal residential and high-end commercial environments. Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft 365 (Teams, Outlook, Excel). Working knowledge of airport navigation and business travel logistics. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Clean credit history. Ability to pass a background check. Physically able to lift heavy equipment, bend, kneel, and work in variable weather conditions. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience servicing vehicles for high-net-worth or celebrity clientele. Previous experience in a customer-facing concierge, hospitality, or white-glove service environment (e.g., luxury automotive, private aviation, yachting, high-end hospitality). Significant previous business travel experience. ASE certifications or comparable formal training. Experience with Ford Bronco platforms (classic, new-generation, or both). Familiarity with classic vehicle restoration, fabrication, or restomod work. Why This Role Matters Most clients will never visit our facility in Buford. For most of them, you will be the only Vintage Modern employee they ever meet in person. Every interaction you have shapes their entire perception of the brand and determines whether they refer their friends, order another Bronco, or quietly walk away from the brand entirely. If you can deliver world-class mechanical work and a world-class personal experience in the same visit, this is one of the most visible and rewarding roles in the company.
