Overview We are seeking a skilled Trailer/Tractor Technician to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy-duty trailers and tractors to ensure optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will help keep our fleet running smoothly and efficiently, supporting our commitment to delivering outstanding service.
Shift:
1st Shift - Monday - Friday Responsibilities Perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on trailers and tractors, including engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, and electrical components. Conduct fabrication work such as welding, assembly, and modifications to equipment as needed. Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex issues with heavy equipment. Maintain detailed records of repairs, parts used, and maintenance performed in compliance with company standards. Operate power tools and hand tools safely to complete repairs efficiently. Assist with tire service, wheel alignments, shocks & struts replacement, and brake repairs to ensure vehicle safety. Support preventive maintenance programs by performing routine inspections and servicing of fleet vehicles. Experience Proven mechanic experience with heavy-duty trucks, trailers, or industrial equipment. Dealership experience or background working with Caterpillar, Cummins, or similar brands is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, electrical systems, hydraulics, and diesel engine repair. Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering. Familiarity with schematics for troubleshooting complex mechanical or electrical issues. Ability to operate heavy equipment including forklifts, excavators, cranes or farm machinery is a plus. Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
