Automotive Body Technician Status:
Full Time Schedule:
Monday - Friday 8:00a - 5:00p
Compensation:
23/HR. 5,000 sign-on bonus Summary Functions as a skilled-level technician who can perform diagnoses and repairs in all areas, in addition to being specialized areas of repair. Primary Duties Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards. Diagnoses the cause of any malfunction and performs repair. Communicated with the parts department to obtain needed parts. Examines assigned vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required or recommended. Communicates with the estimator immediately if additional work is needed, if the work outlined is not required, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time. Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order. Road tests vehicles when required or refers to the test technician. Supervises the work of any apprentice technicians as assigned. Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to the supervisor. Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean. Notifies management immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle. Keeps shop area neat and clean. Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as received. Operates all tools and equipment safely. Reports any safety issues immediately to management. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Two to four years of certified training Two to four years of related experience Physical Demands While performing the job responsibilities, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to walk, stand, and use their hands and fingers to handle or feel. The employee must frequently reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision. The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 100 pounds. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
