Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and skilled Fleet Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a diverse fleet of heavy equipment, trucks, and industrial machinery. Your expertise will ensure that all vehicles and equipment operate safely, efficiently, and reliably, supporting our operational goals. Duties Operate and Maintain Equipment:
Use machinery, power tools, and hand tools to complete tasks; maintain vehicle maintenance equipment and tools.Vehicle Inspections:
Inspect and test vehicle systems (engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, etc.); revise work orders, perform emission tests, and update records.Preventive Maintenance:
Change oil, filters, and wipers; inspect and replace tires as needed.Vehicle Repairs:
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair vehicle issues, ensuring optimal performance.Cleaning and Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including cleaning, refueling, greasing, and part replacement.Other Duties:
Complete additional tasks as required to ensure equipment and vehicles are operable and safe. Experience High School Diploma or GED required, with vocational or technical training in automotive repair, golf industry equipment repair, or small engine repair (depending on the assignment), or a related field. Three years of experience in automotive maintenance and repair, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, providing the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities for the job. Proven experience as a mechanic, with a strong background in maintaining and repairing heavy equipment, including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and farm machinery. Dealership experience highly desirable, with expertise in advanced diagnostics and complex mechanical repairs. Proficient in diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues using schematics, diagnostic tools, and hydraulic diagrams. Hands-on experience in preventive maintenance, welding, soldering, HVAC systems, tire service, and suspension repairs. Skilled in performing vehicle inspections on key systems (drive train, engine, suspension, HVAC, etc.) and maintaining safety standards. Ability to safely operate and maintain heavy machinery while following all required safety protocols. Strong customer service skills, capable of collaborating effectively with team members and supporting operational needs in a fast-paced environment.
