Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Automotive Process Optimization Technician to join our innovative manufacturing team. In this role, you will be instrumental in enhancing production efficiency, streamlining processes, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives across our automotive assembly and fabrication facilities. Your expertise will drive operational excellence by analyzing workflows, optimizing machinery, and applying industry best practices to elevate manufacturing performance. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge automotive manufacturing and to develop your skills in process engineering and industrial optimization. Duties Analyze existing manufacturing processes using root cause analysis to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement Develop and implement process improvements utilizing lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and increase productivity Design, modify, and optimize equipment layouts using CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, or similar tools Program and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs), CNC machines, robotics, and other industrial automation equipment Create detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, and process flowcharts for machinery setup and maintenance Conduct machining, CNC programming, CAM programming, plastics injection molding, welding, and fabrication tasks as needed Perform precision measurements with calipers, micrometers, GD&T standards, and other precision instruments to ensure quality standards are met Support factory maintenance activities by diagnosing mechanical or electrical issues on industrial equipment Lead or participate in continuous improvement projects aligned with
ISO 9001
standards to enhance process reliability and quality control Collaborate with cross-functional teams on tooling design, assembly line optimization, and factory layout planning Requirements Proven experience in manufacturing environments with a focus on process engineering or industrial engineering within an automotive or similar facility Strong knowledge of CAD tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo; experience with Schematics and electrical wiring diagrams preferred Hands-on experience with CNC machining, CNC programming, CAM programming, robot programming, welding, and plastics injection molding processes Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), industrial automation systems, and troubleshooting electrical wiring issues Ability to read technical drawings including schematics and GD&T specifications; proficiency with calipers, micrometers, micrometers and other precision measuring instruments Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis efficiently Strong mechanical knowledge related to manufacturing equipment maintenance and fabrication techniques Effective project scheduling skills to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously Factory experience in a high-volume production environment is highly desirable Ability to work with hand tools, assembly line equipment, fabrication tools, and industrial machinery safely and effectively Join us as an Automotive Process Optimization Technician where your expertise will directly impact our manufacturing excellence!
