Automotive Technician Job Description As an Automotive Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing a diverse range of vehicles including those powered by liquid propane, gas, diesel, and electric motors. Your expertise will encompass various systems such as transmissions, drive axles, differentials, hydraulic systems, brake systems, steering systems, electrical systems, and lifting systems. You will also ensure adherence to safety guidelines and maintain the high standards of vehicle maintenance and repair required by the company. Responsibilities Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair all makes and models including various engine types and systems. Follow company safety guidelines to disassemble and reinstall components safely. Perform planned maintenance services on company and construction vehicles in line with manufacturer's specifications. Conduct equipment inspections to identify potential problems and safety concerns, documenting findings. Record maintenance and repair work completed and process paperwork promptly. Manage personal time and work schedule efficiently. Cultivate and maintain strong customer service skills and a professional image. Maintain cleanliness and safe operating condition of company vehicle, completing required checklists. Secure and organize company tools and inventory on company truck. Participate actively in all safety and company-required meetings. Essential Skills 3-5 years of mechanic experience, with auto mechanic experience being beneficial. Strong mechanical and electrical aptitudes with knowledge of electrical and electronic systems, internal combustion engines, and hydraulic systems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for customer service. Ability to safely operate lift trucks. Additional Skills & Qualifications Flexibility and adaptability to work in an environment requiring frequent direction shifts. Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively.
