  • Waterloo location for Lovell Truck & Trailer Repair Inc is searching for a skilled, motivated & TEAM PLAYERS to join our company.
In this role, you will perform a variety of tasks related to the maintenance and repair of all aspects of professional transportation in a fast paced environment. For example, you'll be asked to use diagnostic techniques and testing equipment to find the source of a vehicle's problems. These positions require the ability to:
Diagnosis and Repair:
Identify and fix mechanical, electrical, and structural issues on semi-trucks & trailers.
Preventative Maintenance:
Perform routine inspections and maintenance to ensure safety and longevity.
System Expertise:
Work with braking systems (including ABS), electrical systems, suspensions, and chassis components.
Component Replacement:
Replace or repair tires, wheels, bearings, brakes, and other components.
Welding and Fabrication:
Diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining the structural and cosmetic aspects of semi-truck & trailer bodies. Trailer repairs include panels, rails, roofs, flooring, and doors, often requiring welding and fabrication skills.
Documentation:
ACCURATELY
record repairs, inspections, and maintenance performed and submit to office personnel in a timely manner.
Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all safety procedures and DOT regulations.
Mobile Service:
Some roles may involve servicing units at customer sites or on the road.
Technical Skills:
STRONG mechanical aptitude, knowledge of trailer systems, and ability to use tools and diagnostic equipment. Summary As part of the Lovell team, you will be essential in diagnosing and repairing various mechanical issues in semi-truck & trailers, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently. Reporting to the Owner/Service Manager, you will utilize your core skills in automotive diagnostics, mechanical knowledge, and vehicle maintenance to perform repairs on transmissions, air brakes, and hydraulics. Your premium skills in heavy equipment operation and fabrication will enhance your effectiveness in this role. Strong communication skills and a commitment to customer service will be vital as you interact with clients and provide high-quality service in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues effectively.
Physical Stamina:
Ability to work quickly & efficiently , lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and work in various conditions.
Safety Awareness:
Commitment to following safety procedures and regulations.
Communication Skills:
Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers.
Experience:
Previous experience in semi-truck & trailer repair or related fields is preferred but willing to train if you have strong mechanical aptitude. CDL preferred but not required. Looking for individual(s) with at least 5 years experience. However, if you have a strong mechanical aptitude or some type of mechanical background we may be willing to consider training the right individuals. Opportunity to make really good money when advanced to " after hours on call" status. Wage based on experience.
