Job Description
The City of Geneva is seeking an experienced Fleet Maintenance Technician to join our Public Works Fleet Division. This position performs skilled repairs and maintenance on the City's mechanical fleet, which includes vehicles and equipment. This is a 40-hour-per week, full-time position that works from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday
- Friday.
MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT USED
: Lifting equipment- Jacks, hoists, stands, screw supports Power tools
- Electrical, pneumatic, hydro Diagnostic equipment
- Monitor, All Data, DVOM, A/C machine, Pro Link, Service Maxx, EZ Tech, lab scopes, Boss exhaust gas analyzer, Ford OEM software, Snap-On, Bosch Heavy Equipment
- Fork trucks Fabrication Equipment
- Welder torch, plasma cutter Hand Tools
- Basic and specialty Fleet Management Software, such as
CFA MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
:Education and Experience:
Associate's degree in Auto and/or Diesel Technology; and, Three years experience in complex diagnosis and repair of vehicles and equipment; or, Any combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.Licenses and Certifications:
Class A CDL with tanker endorsement within six months of hire date. MACS certification Forklift certification EVT certification ASE certification CST (Safety Lane Certification) Hours for this position are 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. The work primarily occurs indoors at our main Public Works Facility, but there are times when work is performed outdoors in a range of weather conditions. As mentioned above, this position is subject to emergency and after-hours callback, primarily on a rotating basis. Due to this, candidates must reside within a 16-mile straight-line radius of the City's boundaries within one year of employment. You can review the residency map on our website. The starting base rate of pay for this position is $31.11 and is covered by the current collective bargaining agreement between the City of Geneva andIBEW 196.
