We're searching for someone who can confidently diagnose and repair vehicles, take pride in quality workmanship, and work well in a professional team environment. Purpose & Objective:
The Automotive Technician is an important role in the shop that ensures that all concerts and work requested by the customer have been completed. This position is ideal for technicians who have strong diagnostic abilities and can perform most repairs independently but may occasionally collaborate with senior technicians on complex issues.
Key Responsibilities Vehicle Management:
Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of vehicles Accurately diagnose mechanical issues. Perform cooling system repairs. Complete brake, suspension, steering system repairs including wheel alignments. Perform engine repairs and drivability diagnostics Conduct routine maintenance services such as oil changes, tire replacement, fluid checks and replacement, and filter replacements Use scan tools and diagnostic equipment to identify issues
Communication & Collaboration:
Clearly and concisely communicate inspection results, quality concerns, and recommendations to service management. Foster a collaborative environment, influencing team members to adhere to quality standards and operational policies. Secondary Responsibilities Assisting with the shop, surrounding building, and parking lot cleanliness when needed.
Qualifications:
Experience & Skills 3+ years of professional automotive technician experience Strong knowledge of passenger automobiles in order to identify components in engine compartment and undercarriage for the purpose of checking repairs. Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills Ability to perform most repairs such as engine diagnostics and repair, suspension and steering repair, brake systems, and cooling and HVAC systems, without supervision. Familiarity with modern diagnostic tools and vehicle electronics Skilled and able to read/write english on a computer and on paper Skilled and able to perform basic counting and math ASE certifications preferred but not required for employment
Physical Requirements:
Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs without assistance Ability to stand for extended periods, as well as bend, stoop, and reach Ability to perform physical maneuvers for various tasks in the shop, such as sweeping, pushing a floor cleaning machine, reaching high and low with hands/arms, and other full body movements as needed to complete the job Ability to perform major and fine motor skill movements in the process of using various tools and techniques for the purpose of repairing and servicing vehicles Ability to work effectively in both indoor and outdoor conditions, adapting to various weather elements
Other Requirements:
Must possess a valid US Driver's License, be insurable on shop insurance policy, and possess the ability to drive a vehicle with passengers
