Master Automotive Technician Location:
Kankakee, IL Job Type:
Full-Time Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Master Automotive Technician to join our growing shop. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in diagnosing and repairing complex automotive systems, with strong hands-on experience in engine work, transmission repairs, and timing chains . This role is for a self-motivated technician who takes pride in quality workmanship and efficiency. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair engine systems, including engine replacements Perform transmission removal, installation, and repair Complete timing chain and timing component repairs Diagnose drivability issues using scan tools and diagnostic equipment Perform suspension, steering, brake, and general mechanical repairs as needed Test drive vehicles to confirm proper operation and quality of repair Accurately document work performed and recommended repairs Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment Collaborate with service advisors and fellow technicians to ensure timely repairs Qualifications 7+ years of professional automotive repair experience preferred Proven experience with engines, transmissions, and timing chains (required) Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision ASE certifications preferred (Master ASE a plus) Valid driver's license with clean driving record Own professional tools What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience Steady workload — no slow seasons Monday-Friday schedule (No weekends) Supportive, team-oriented work environment Opportunity for long-term growth
Pay:
$25.00 - $35.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
