$35,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year Job description: Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Automotive Service Writer to join our team. In this vital role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for customers seeking vehicle maintenance and repair services . You will ensure a seamless experience from initial vehicle intake through service completion, all while promoting additional services that enhance vehicle performance and longevity. You will also be working with 3rd party warranty companies to insure payment, as well as necessary other office duties. Responsibilities Greet customers warmly and listen to their concerns Accurately document service needs Explain repair procedures, estimates, and recommended services clearly Collaborate with technicians to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion of work Upsell additional maintenance or repair services based on customer needs and vehicle diagnostics Prepare detailed auto estimates using auto estimating software, ensuring transparency and accuracy Handle cash transactions, process check and credit card payments, and maintain precise financial records Maintain thorough documentation of all service orders, customer interactions, and vehicle histories Coordinate with parts suppliers to ensure timely availability of necessary components for repairs Call warranty companies to file claims as well as follow up on claims. Help customers with U-Haul rentals Other office tasks and tidying front reception area as needed Requirements Proven experience or background in auto service is highly preferred Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, and repair procedures including transmissions, oil changes, brake repair, suspension, alignment, tire service, shocks & struts, diesel engine repair and air brake systems Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients of diverse backgrounds Experience with auto estimating tools and automotive repair processes is essential Ability to handle all payment transactions accurately while maintaining professionalism under pressure Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation is mandatory Join us in delivering exceptional automotive care while building meaningful relationships with our customers!
