Automotive Express Technician 4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars O'Fallon, IL 62269 $18 an hour - Full-time Newbold Toyota 8 reviews $18 an hour - Full-time Essential duties and responsibilities of the Lube Technician are. Change vehicle oil in our climate controlled environment. Rotate tires. (training will be provided, but candidates should at least have a basic understanding of car maintenance) Replace cabin & air filters. Replace wiper blades. Replace batteries. Inspect various belts, fluid levels and check air levels and gauges. Write up service reports and document all work that is needed and completed. Complete electronic and video multipoint inspection. Perform work as outlined in repair order with efficiency and accuracy and in accordance with dealership and factory standards. Communicate with the parts department to obtain needed parts. Save and tag parts for warranty. Advise service advisors immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed or if repairs cannot be completed within the time period promised. Road test vehicles when required to quality check work performed. Ensure that customers' vehicles are kept clean. Keep shop area neat and clean and be able to account for all dealership owned tools at all times. Understand and follow federal, state and local regulations governing the disposal of hazardous waste. Other duties as assigned by the Manager. Work Environment and Physical Abilities of the Lube Technician are : Requires frequent sitting, standing, balancing, bending or stooping for prolonged periods of time. Manual dexterity, fine manipulation and the ability to reach with hands and arms and lift up to 75 lbs. Must be able to operate simple to complex and heavy-duty machinery. Normal range of hearing and vision.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
High School diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license One year of experience as a lube technician. Basic computer skills are a plus. Lube technicians should be able to communicate well and explain technical components. Excellent verbal and communication skills. Detail oriented.
