Winthrop Harbor, IL Job Details $22 - $25 an hour 18 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Vision insurance Life insurance Qualifications Safety protocol adherence Full Job Description We are looking for an individual who loves working with their hands and considers themselves a backyard mechanic or jack of trades (we are not looking for some who is not and wants to be). This opportunity is for an individual who will work safely with minimal supervision, is proud to produce quality work and enjoys working on trucks and vans, working around the shop and doing odd jobs. The duties will include but not limited too: Assembling and installing shelving and components for mobile workshops Installing 12v lighting and accessories Light metal fabrication and Mig welding. Light wood working Routing and connecting air lines Working with hydraulics Loading the completed vehicles with inventory and labeling Periodically going for a road trip to deliver or retrieve vehicles to or from technicians The ideal candidate would be someone who wanted to be a mechanic or tradesmen but didn’t or could not finish school for one reason or another. This opportunity is a rare opportunity due to the overall dynamics of the company. The company is diversified stretching across many different parts of the medium/heavy truck industry and if it is your ambition to eventually advance and train to become a mobile heavy truck technician, trailer mechanic or tow truck operator, this position maybe just the one for you.
