Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire services, brake inspection and repair, and lighting systems to maximize vehicle lifespan. Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues accurately. Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and inspection logs to ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies. Manage fleet vehicles to keep road ready by balancing operational needs and mechanical requirements. Maintain a safe shop space. Safely operate typical shop equipment including lifts and tire mounting and balancing machines. Coordinate with outside mechanic resources for complex repair services and warranty work. Qualify for and conduct DOT inspections. Qualifications Proven experience working as a mechanic in a dealership or heavy-duty fleet environment with a focus on Ford F-59 chassis preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of transmissions, suspension systems, HVAC systems, shocks & struts, and tire service. Proficiency in automotive diagnostics using schematics and electronic testing tools. Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; ability to use power tools effectively. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during repairs or maintenance tasks. Valid certifications in automotive repair or related fields. Knowledge of electrical systems and experience with service diagnostics enhances your ability to troubleshoot complex issues efficiently.
