Job Description

A specialized trucking and trailer maintenance operation is hiring a Senior Trailer Mechanic in Geismar, LA to inspect, repair, and rebuild fleet trailers. Ideal candidates have proven trailer brake, suspension, air system, electrical, ABS, and DOT inspection experience. Apply today for steady day-shift work and competitive hourly pay. Duties & Responsibilities Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain dry van, flatbed, specialty, and fleet trailers. Repair trailer brake systems, hubs, drums, bearings, seals, suspension components, air systems, landing gear, doors, roofs, and flooring. Troubleshoot and repair 12V electrical systems, ABS systems, lighting, wiring, and related trailer components. Complete trailer rebuilds, structural repairs, minor welding, fabrication, and safety-related repairs as needed. Perform tire service, DOT inspections, work order documentation, and repair status updates. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized shop while supporting daily trailer repair priorities.
Requirements Required:
Strong trailer repair and rebuild experience in a fleet, trucking, trailer repair, or similar shop environment. Working knowledge of trailer brake systems, suspension components, air systems, electrical systems, ABS, and structural repairs. Hands-on experience using shop tools, lifts, tire service equipment, and trailer repair procedures. Ability to read work orders, complete inspection reports, document repairs, and communicate safety concerns. Must provide own tools and be able to work in shop and occasional outdoor yard conditions. Valid driver's license, acceptable
MVR, DOT
physical, and ability to meet company driving requirements. Able to perform physical trailer repairs, work around shop equipment, and pass required pre-employment screening.
Preferred:
Technical school training in diesel, truck, trailer, or related repair. DOT inspection experience and familiarity with FHWA out-of-service criteria. Welding, fabrication, liftgate, or specialized trailer system experience. #PJ1
Compensation:
$30.00 - $37.00/hour based on experience and qualifications Hourly pay with no flat rate Weekly pay
