Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic automotive team as an Automotive Service Assistant, where your enthusiasm and mechanical aptitude will drive exceptional customer experiences. In this role, you will support the service department by assisting with vehicle inspections, repairs, and maintenance while ensuring smooth operations and outstanding service delivery. Your proactive approach will help customers get back on the road safely and efficiently, contributing to a lively and positive dealership environment. Responsibilities Assist service technicians with vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire services, brake repairs, suspension work, and alignments. Support the service department in estimating repair costs accurately and preparing service write-ups for customer approval. Perform vehicle inspections to identify mechanical issues related to transmissions, shocks & struts, air brakes, diesel engines, and other automotive systems. Engage with customers professionally to explain repair procedures, upsell additional services like auto body repairs or tire rotations, and promote maintenance packages. Handle cash transactions and process payments efficiently while maintaining accurate records of service orders. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored and sanitized. Collaborate with the team to ensure timely completion of repairs and excellent customer service at every touchpoint. Qualifications Previous dealership experience or auto service background is highly preferred. Hands-on mechanic experience with automotive diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance procedures. Strong mechanical knowledge across various vehicle systems including transmissions, suspensions, brakes, oil changes, and tire services. Experience in automotive repair shops or service writing roles is advantageous. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients. Familiarity with auto estimating software and sales techniques for upselling services or vehicle sales is a plus.
