Fleet Mechanic

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Fleet Mechanic to help maintain, diagnose, and repair our company fleet, ranging from small engines to large diesel-powered trucks and heavy equipment. This role also includes trailer axle assembly and electrical wiring to meet DOT specifications . The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and experienced in a fleet or heavy equipment environment. Key Responsibilities In this position, the candidate will perform or assist with diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on: Small engines Gasoline and diesel engines Company trucks and heavy equipment Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems Assemble trailer axles and complete trailer wiring in compliance with DOT standards Conduct preventative maintenance and safety inspections Maintain accurate service and repair records Ensure all equipment meets company safety and operational standards Work collaboratively with fleet management to minimize downtime

Qualifications Required:

Minimum 2+ years of experience as a mechanic working with fleet vehicles, diesel engines, or heavy equipment General understanding of diesel engines, braking systems, suspension, and electrical systems Experience with trailer axle assembly and DOT-compliant wiring Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics Valid driver's license ( CDL a plus, but not required ) Own basic hand tools a plus (specialty tools provided) Physical Requirements Candidate must be able to: Lift up to 50 lbs Work in shop and outdoor environments Comfortably stand, bend, and work with heavy components Benefits The organization offers the following: Competitive pay based on experience Opportunities for overtime Supportive team environment Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Vacation and sick days
