Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking an honest professional and customer-focused Automotive Service Advisor to join our reputable and dynamic team. The ideal candidate will serve as a primary point of contact for customers seeking vehicle maintenance and repair services. This role involves effectively communicating with clients, understanding their vehicle needs, and coordinating with technicians to ensure timely and quality service delivery. Candidates with experience, automotive diagnostics knowledge, and strong sales skills will thrive in this position. The Service Advisor plays a vital role in enhancing customer satisfaction while supporting the shops service department goals. Responsibilities Greet customers warmly and listen carefully to their vehicle concerns to accurately assess service needs. Explain recommended repairs and maintenance services clearly, including estimates for labor and parts. Upsell additional services such as oil changes, maintenance, tire services, alignments, suspension work, brake repairs, and transmission services when appropriate. Write detailed service orders and repair estimates using automotive service management software. Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion of work. Keep customers informed about the progress of their vehicle repairs and address any questions or concerns professionally. Handle cash transactions accurately and process payments efficiently. Maintain thorough knowledge of automotive repair procedures, tires, brakes, shocks & struts, and other specialized services. Promote customer retention through excellent service writing, follow-up calls, and building long-term relationships. Stay updated on the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques to provide expert advice. Requirements Prior experience or auto service/service advising background is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, and vehicle maintenance procedures is highly preferred. Familiarity with auto estimating software and service writing processes is highly preferred. Experience with a wide range of automotive repairs including State Inspections, oil changes, alignments, suspension work, tire services, brake repairs, engine repair, shocks & struts is highly preferred. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients. Proven sales ability with experience in upselling automotive services and automobile sales is advantageous. Mechanical knowledge combined with experience working as a service technician or mechanic is a plus. Ability to handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining professionalism under pressure. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documenting vehicle conditions and repair recommendations.
