Industrial Maintenance Technician /
Mechanic Location:
30 Creek Brook Dr. Haverhill, MA 01832
Pay Rate:
$30.00 / hour + comprehensive benefits package (Overtime available)
Job Type:
Full-Time, 4x10-hour shifts (with a 30-minute lunch)
Available Shifts Night Shift:
8:00 PM - 6:30
AM Day Shift:
9:00 AM - 7:30
PM Note:
Candidates must be available to work weekends. Position Summary We are seeking an experienced and reliable Industrial Maintenance Technician / Mechanic to join our food production facility team. This role ensures all production machinery operates safely and efficiently through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. The ideal candidate brings hands-on industrial experience and strong technical problem-solving skills to minimize downtime.
Key Responsibilities Preventative Maintenance:
Perform scheduled PMs to maximize equipment uptime and ensure production efficiency.
Troubleshooting & Repair:
Diagnose and repair complex equipment issues, including motors, conveyors, pumps, and packaging machinery.
Electrical & Controls:
Work directly with PLCs, VFD drives, relays, fuse boxes, HMIs, and industrial control systems to identify and resolve faults.
Mechanical Overhauls:
Dismantle, repair, and reassemble machinery and components to restore optimal operational condition.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders using a CMMS or similar tracking system.
Safety & Compliance:
Adhere strictly to all food safety, hygiene, and OSHA regulations, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
Collaboration:
Partner with production and sanitation teams to support continuous improvement and minimize facility downtime.
Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of industrial maintenance experience (experience in food or beverage manufacturing is highly preferred).
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Controls Systems:
Proven experience troubleshooting PLCs, VFDs, relays, HMIs, and electrical control systems.
Blueprint Literacy:
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
Communication:
Clear verbal and written English communication skills.
Education:
High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school training preferred.
Traits:
Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently or as part of a team. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. Comfortable working in varied positions (standing, bending, crouching) within a dynamic industrial manufacturing environment.
Compensation & Benefits Competitive Pay:
$25.00-30.00/hour with consistent overtime opportunities.
