Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Automotive Service Advisor / Writer to join our fast-paced dealership team. In this vital role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for customers seeking vehicle maintenance and repair services. Your expertise in automotive diagnostics, mechanical knowledge, and excellent customer service skills will ensure a seamless experience from initial vehicle intake to service completion. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine technical understanding with sales acumen, helping customers make informed decisions while driving revenue growth for the dealership. Duties Greet customers warmly, listen carefully to their vehicle concerns, and accurately document service needs. Provide detailed auto estimates and explain repair procedures clearly, emphasizing recommended services such as oil changes, brake repairs, suspension work, tire service, and transmission repairs. Coordinate with technicians and service managers to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion of work. Upsell additional services and maintenance packages that enhance vehicle performance and safety, including diesel engine repair, air brake systems, alignment, shocks & struts, and auto body repairs. Maintain thorough records of all transactions, including cash handling and invoicing, ensuring accuracy and transparency. Communicate effectively with customers throughout the service process, providing updates on vehicle status and estimated completion times. Promote dealership automotive sales by advising customers on vehicle features and financing options when appropriate. Requirements Proven dealership experience or background in auto service management is highly preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive diagnostics, repair procedures, and vehicle maintenance. Familiarity with automotive systems such as transmissions, oil changes, brake systems, suspension components, tire services, diesel engines, shocks & struts, air brakes, and alignments. Experience in service writing or auto estimating software is advantageous. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients. Ability to upsell services confidently while maintaining integrity and customer trust. Knowledge of automotive repair processes including auto body repair and tire services. Cash handling experience and proficiency in sales techniques are beneficial. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; mechanic experience or certifications are a plus. $65,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
