Flat Rate 19.00-25.00/hour
Scope of Position:
This position is a mid-level Technician and is responsible for the diagnosing and completion of repairs to both customer and Queen City Motors vehicles, as needed. This position may also be responsible for vehicle inspections, as assigned by the Service Manager.
Duties include:
% of Time•Duties 80%•Diagnose and repair cars, trucks and vans, denote parts needed for repairs. Complete all repair orders (R/O's) as assigned within time frame allotted by All Data or as mutually agreed upon with management with accuracy and with little or no comebacks. All information needed to complete the R/O for parts, fluids and supplies used, VIN # if needed, license number and odometer reading should be included. Company safety procedures should be adhered to at all times. Incumbent is expected to be experienced in handling specific vehicle systems, i.e., suspension, steering, complicated brake systems, engine and transmission systems, etc. for their work assignments, as well as duties of a Tech 1. This position also handles alignments on the Hunter alignment machine. 15%•Research symptoms and concerns utilizing All Data and Identifix. Get with Foreman on complicated diagnoses. Make recommendations for potential fixes to the issues. Keep ASE certification up to date on vehicles systems they are requested to repair. Also if doing state inspections, the Tech 2's inspection license must be current. 5%•Keep assigned service bay cleaned up, including storing personal and company tools. Also assist with general cleanup including trash removal and putting incoming tire orders away as directed by the Service Manager.
Expectations and Work Experience:
The technician's work shift is 8:00 AM•5:00 PM Monday through Friday. The technician is expected to be attired in the uniform provided by the Company and clean and groomed each work day. Demonstrated work experience of 3 years or more in the automotive repair field is required. Technicians are expected to supply their own tools to handle the job they are assigned. However certain specialty tools, such as scan tools, etc., will be provided by the Service Department. The incumbent is expected to be able to lift up to 50-100 lbs. and must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
