Job Description

JOB TITLE
Fleet Mechanic FLSA:

REPORTS TO
Fleet Maintenance Manager •This position is for 2nd Shift Must be able to work independently and be on call one week a month.
GENERAL SUMMARY
This position will be responsible for the repair, maintenance and service of all AC&T vehicles to include transports, tankers, delivery trucks, pumping vehicles, portable toilet trucks, pick-up trucks, and vans in a safe, timely, cost effective and practical manner.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Diagnose failures of vehicles and disassemble, repair and reassemble parts as necessary Perform required inspections and preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment. Maintain and repair fleet equipment Answer road calls Maintain vehicle records as required Fill out all necessary documents Performs other tasks & duties as assigned or required.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
High school graduate. 3-5 years of experience, industry background preferred. Knowledge of engines and controls Must be able to move, operate, lift and store specialized equipment that includes hand tools, welding equipment, shop machines and power tools. Must be able to complete repairs that may require, bending, twisting, climbing, squatting, crouching and balancing. Must have the ability to accurately read gauges and dials. Knowledge of brakes and suspensions Knowledge of hydraulics and
ANSI A92.2
guidelines Knowledge of the various vehicles and equipment such as bucket trucks and forklifts. Skilled in diagnosis and repair of electrical systems on trucks and equipment Skilled in welding and cutting Skilled in DOT inspections Ability to operate various pieces of equipment such as backhoes and Trenchers. Ability to lift /carry up to 100 lbs. Ability to discern color Repetitive motion: wrenches Ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
WORKING CONDITIONS
May be exposed to heat, cold, dust or fumes. May have to work outside for short periods of time. May work with and be exposed to hazardous materials.
