Job Description

Our Mindset Here's to those who think differently. The ones who think that a car dealership's first priority should be the guest. Such a candid idea could only come from Ourisman. Because we're forward thinking, just like the communities we serve. Individuals who won't be constrained by how things "have always been done", but instead strive to do things "how they could be done" and "how they should be done." It is a philosophy we have infused into every fabric of our dealerships, from the bottom up, in every department, and in every Ourisman team member. Changing the way we all think about car buying is just the beginning. Role Snapshot As a Service Technician in Marlow Heights, you'll help keep our guests' vehicles safe, dependable, and performing at their best through accurate diagnosis and quality repairs.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical concerns and complete needed repairs
  • Perform routine maintenance (oil services, tire rotations, brake checks, fluid inspections)
  • Road-test vehicles and use diagnostic equipment to verify repairs meet manufacturer standards
  • Document work completed, parts used, and recommended services
  • Coordinate with Service Advisors and fellow technicians to support an efficient shop flow
  • Occasionally speak with customers to clearly explain findings and next steps Required qualifications/skills:
  • Prior automotive technician/mechanic experience preferred
  • Relevant certifications and technical training
  • Working knowledge of diagnostic tools, repair equipment, and service information
  • Strong problem-solving skills for complex issues
  • Ability to handle physical demands (lifting, standing for extended periods)
  • Professional, customer-focused communication A Typical Shift You'll start by reviewing the day's repair orders and prioritizing work with your team.
Throughout the shift, you'll move between bays, use scan tools and service information to confirm concerns, and take short verification drives when needed. You'll update repair notes as you go so recommendations are clear and consistent, and you'll sync with Service Advisors to keep timing and approvals on track. When a customer needs clarity, you'll help translate technical findings into straightforward options. The day finishes with final checks, clean handoffs, and setting up the next vehicle so the shop stays on pace. Your Benefits
