Full Job Description Automotive Diagnostic Technician Location:
Allen Park, MI Pay Rate:
$42.90/hour We are seeking an experienced Automotive Diagnostic Technician for a hands-on testing and validation role supporting advanced automotive diagnostic systems. This position is ideal for a dealership technician or automotive repair professional with strong knowledge of vehicle electronics, scan tools, and engine management systems. The ideal candidate understands how to interpret DIDs and PIDs on diagnostic scan tools, identify under-hood components, and explain how systems react when components are disconnected or fail during engine operation. Responsibilities Perform diagnostic tool testing and vehicle system validation Inject faults into vehicle subsystems to simulate failures Execute assigned test procedures and verify diagnostic accuracy Document Pass/Fail results and report defects using HPQC or similar testing software Communicate findings with diagnostic engineers and technical teams Maintain current knowledge of automotive technology and diagnostic tools Support team testing activities and continuous improvement efforts Qualifications Strong knowledge of automotive mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems Experience using diagnostic scan tools and interpreting vehicle data Ability to read and understand electrical schematics preferred Valid unrestricted driver's license with ability to drive automatic and manual transmission vehicles Strong computer and documentation skills Self-motivated with excellent teamwork and problem-solving abilities Preferred Experience Dealership technician or automotive repair experience ASE or Michigan Mechanic Certification preferred (Master Certification a plus) Associate or Bachelor's degree in Automotive Technology or related field Minimum 2 years of automotive repair or diagnostic experience Employee Benefits Medical, dental, vision, and pet insurance 401(k) Retirement Savings Plans Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Commuter/Parking Accounts People Perks Health Savings Account (HSA) AD & D Insurance If you are a skilled automotive technician with strong diagnostic expertise and a passion for vehicle technology, click "" today.
