Senior Automotive Mechanic

Talascend is currently seeking a Senior Automotive Mechanic for a contract opportunity with our client in Dearborn, Michigan . Overview The Senior Automotive Mechanic will modify cars and trucks in a prototype environment, performing diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance. They will mentor team members and oversee technical deliverables to ensure standards are met. Responsibilities Maintain vehicle functional condition by working off repair orders or leader instructions and conducting inspections. Repair mechanical and electrical system malfunctions and replace parts and components. Read, interpret, and follow service procedures. Train, coach, and mentor team members related to their job responsibilities and serve as a subject matter expert to assist the team and customers. Maintain vehicle records by entering notes, service, and repair orders. Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs. Lead daily shop organization and clean-up. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 8 years of work experience as a Mechanic. Excellent knowledge of mechanical assembly and ability to operate shop equipment. Good attention to detail and organizational skills. Able to work independently and as part of a team and able to mentor and train others. Has own tools with rolling toolbox.
