Job Description

Foxscapes, Lansing, Michigan Build Your Career With One of Mid-Michigan's Leading Landscape Companies Foxscapes is seeking a skilled, dependable, and self-motivated Mechanic to join our growing team. This position is responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, repairing, and improving the reliability of our fleet of trucks, trailers, landscape equipment, and snow removal equipment. The ideal candidate takes pride in keeping equipment operating safely and efficiently, can work independently, and understands that minimizing downtime is critical to our team's success. Position Summary The Mechanic will oversee the maintenance and repair of Foxscapes' fleet and equipment while helping create preventative maintenance systems that keep our crews productive. This role will work closely with operations leadership and production teams to ensure equipment is ready for daily use.
Responsibilities:
Fleet Maintenance & Repair Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine issues.
Perform preventative maintenance on:
Pickup trucks Dump trucks CDL trucks Trailers Skid steers Mini excavators Compact loaders Commercial mowers Small engines and landscape equipment Complete oil changes, brake repairs, suspension work, tire service, and routine inspections. Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns in the field when necessary. Equipment Management Develop and maintain preventative maintenance schedules. Maintain accurate service records and repair logs. Track equipment conditions and recommend replacements when appropriate. Coordinate outside vendor repairs when specialized work is required. Ensure equipment complies with safety and DOT requirements. Facility & Shop Support Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment. Manage inventory of parts, fluids, tools, and supplies. Assist with facility maintenance projects as needed. Support winter operations including snow equipment readiness and emergency repairs. QualificationsRequired 3+ years of mechanical repair experience. Experience working on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and commercial equipment. Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Valid driver's license. Ability to lift 75+ pounds. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Preferred CDL License (or willingness to obtain). Experience with landscape, construction, or agricultural equipment. Welding and fabrication experience. DOT inspection experience. What Success Looks Like Equipment downtime is minimized. Preventative maintenance is completed on schedule. Crews have safe and reliable equipment every day. Repair costs are managed proactively. The shop remains organized and efficient.
