Job Description

Talascend is currently seeking an Engine Dynamometer Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Livonia, Michigan. Overview This role involves supporting engine durability and development testing through setup, operation, and monitoring of engine test cells. The technician will work closely with engineering staff to ensure accurate testing and engine performance evaluation. Responsibilities Set up and operate engine test cells and dynamometers. Configure test instrumentation and monitor tests while engines are running. Perform regular engine health checks. Remove engines after test completion. Collaborate with engineers and support staff to execute customer-based testing. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. 2+ years of automotive mechanical related experience. Self-starter with excellent engine mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills. Proficient with computers, including MS Office applications. Own tools and a rolling toolbox. Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed. Flexible, eager to learn, and detail-oriented. Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, and customer service skills. Preferred Qualifications Associate degree or technical training in an automotive related field. Engine teardown/build skills and ability to follow an engine assembly manual. Ability to perform simple fabrications and assemblies. Engine dynamometer controls operation experience or training with AVL PUMA and/or A & D iTest. We thank all applicants for their interest.
