Milford, Michigan, United States Talascend is currently seeking an Automotive Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Milford, Michigan. Overview The technician will be responsible for working within a vehicle dynamics and chassis control lab to ensure first-time quality and on-time delivery of test data for various vehicle tests and evaluations, supporting regulatory and internal requirements. Responsibilities Plan, build, test, and teardown instrumentation for the requested tests.
Perform vehicle benchmark, validation, and developmental track testing.
Evaluate test results and produce quality data in accordance with specifications and federal requirements.
Investigate mechanical and electrical operational difficulties and troubleshoot issues with test equipment and vehicle components.
Support winter testing at offsite facilities and perform related activities.
Maintain detailed documentation and ensure safety and confidentiality standards are met. Qualifications Minimum two-year associate degree in automotive technology or equivalent.
2-5 years of electrical and/or mechanical hands-on experience.
Valid driver's license and ability to become a Level 3 Driver certified (Limit Handle Driving).
Knowledge with instrumentation installation, troubleshooting, and repair.
Excellent mechanical assembly and disassembly skills.
Experience with data acquisition, review, and troubleshooting.
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Ability to handle physical tasks including bending, twisting, pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds, and moving test equipment up to 200 pounds. Preferred Qualifications Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and in team environments.
Effective time management skills.
