Position Summary:
The Upfit Technician is responsible for installing, assembling, wiring, and modifying aftermarket equipment on commercial trucks and vans. Depending on experience level, technicians may work alongside senior team members or independently complete more advanced truck builds and installations. This role provides hands-on experience in truck equipment installation, mechanical assembly, fabrication, welding, and 12V electrical systems while supporting overall shop productivity, safety, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Install truck accessories including hitches, toolboxes, ladder racks, shelving, and cab protectors Install and wire 12V electrical systems including strobe lights, auxiliary lighting, and back-up cameras Assemble and install snow and ice equipment including plows and spreaders Install commercial truck equipment including dump bodies, flatbeds, and service bodies Perform mechanical assembly, fabrication, and light welding Read and follow installation instructions, measurements, and manufacturer specifications Safely operate hand and power tools Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Support overall shop productivity and quality standards
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn Experience in automotive, welding, fabrication, hydraulics, or 12V electrical systems preferred Ability to safely operate hand and power tools Ability to read measurements and technical instructions Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Preferred Skills:
12V electrical wiring and troubleshooting Welding and fabrication Truck equipment installation Mechanical assembly Hydraulic systems experience Welding experience Snowplow and spreader installation Automotive or heavy-duty equipment repair experience

• Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:30
