Position Summary Very busy GM and Honda service departments. The Master Automotive Service Technician is responsible for performing advanced diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs with efficiency and precision. This position plays a critical role in delivering outstanding service experiences while supporting the development of fellow technicians and maintaining manufacturer standards. Key Responsibilities Perform diagnostic, repair, and maintenance services on a wide range of vehicles in accordance with manufacturer and dealership standards. Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, drivability, and performance-related concerns. Accurately document repairs, recommendations, and completed work on repair orders. Communicate effectively with service advisors regarding repair status, additional service recommendations, and completion timelines. Conduct thorough vehicle inspections to identify safety concerns and maintenance needs. Collaborate with the parts department to ensure timely procurement of necessary components. Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training and certification programs to remain current on evolving vehicle technologies. Mentor and assist apprentice and developing technicians as needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Properly care for dealership tools, equipment, and service information resources. Follow all federal, state, local, and OSHA safety regulations and dealership policies. Perform road tests when necessary to verify repairs and diagnose vehicle concerns. Qualifications Master Technician certification and/or ASE Master Technician certification preferred. Previous General Motors, Chevrolet, Honda, or dealership service experience highly desirable. Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities across mechanical, electrical, and computerized vehicle systems. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment. Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills. Proficiency with modern diagnostic equipment, repair software, and digital service tools. Commitment to delivering quality workmanship and exceptional customer satisfaction. Technicians regularly work around moving mechanical equipment, automotive fluids, and varying environmental conditions while adhering to established safety standards and procedures.
