Job Description
Jefferson Auto Service - Romeo Lcation Ever worked at a shop that shut down for the day to take everyone to a Tigers game? Or where your boss booked a skeet shooting day because the team wanted to do something different this year? That is a normal year at Jefferson Auto Service. We run three busy locations, and we are serious about two things: doing quality work and making sure the people doing it enjoy coming in every day. Right now our Washington Township shop is looking for an experienced technician who wants a steady, high quality workflow in a low drama environment where your voice actually matters and your time is respected. What it feels like to work here Morning huddles where techs have a say in what they work on and how the day is laid out Advisors who load your bay when they trust your work, not just to fill a schedule A fast paced shop that does not run on panic, fire drills or unrealistic promise times An owner who spent 14 years as a dealership tech and built the opposite of that culture You'll see it in the details: DVIs and processes get adjusted based on tech feedback, time off for real life is treated like a normal part of being human, and big wins are celebrated as a team, not just as a number on a spreadsheet. Pay, hours and benefits Pay structure built to reward solid producers Base guarantee around 80,000 per year Production pay at 45 to 50 per flag hour When your hours beat your base, you earn the difference Top producers are currently 110,000 to 125,000 plus Monday through Friday, 8 to 5, no weekends Health insurance, HSA, short and long term disability, and a small life policy paid by the shop Paid holidays and PTO that grows with tenure 401k with a 3 percent company match after one year Tool allowance and all the specialty and shop tools you need Uniforms provided, with laundering options The work and the shop Vehicle mix is mostly GM, Ford, Chrysler, Honda and Toyota Light Euro work like brakes and suspension, no deep Euro diagnostics unless the right person joins the team 6 service bays with updated hoists Top of the line Hunter alignment and tire equipment Multiple scan tools, module programming equipment and strong service information resources Tekmetric with digital vehicle inspections that were built and refined with tech input Heated shop, air conditioned offices and break areas How the team works together Lead tech and lead advisor coordinate dispatch and flow, with input from the techs in the morning huddle Monthly shop meetings with open forum time to talk about what is working and what needs to change Advisors share Google reviews and customer feedback with the techs who did the work When a job gets weird, shop leaders step in to help and teach, not to point fingers Training and growth If you like learning and staying sharp, you will fit right in. Shop paid training for certifications and continuing education Certification costs covered when you pass, and often even when you do not so you are encouraged to keep going Annual Tech Expo trip with classes for techs, advisors, front office and leadership Local training classes throughout the year from parts suppliers Leadership development for people who want to step into key roles as we grow Who will do well here Technicians who can diagnose and repair with minimal supervision Minimum of 3 State of Michigan certifications, Master State or ASE Master is a plus Self motivated, open minded and willing to both give and receive help Takes pride in clean, accurate work and understands that quality builds trust with advisors and customers Low ego, team first mindset. If "my way or the highway" has ever been your thing, this will not be a match What success looks like You are turning steady hours, hitting around 35 billed hours a week or more, your comebacks are rare, advisors are confident selling your recommendations, and you still have the energy to enjoy your life outside the shop. You feel heard, you see your ideas implemented, and you are not wondering if there is something better out there, because you already found it. If this sounds like the kind of place you've been hoping to find then we want to meet you! Questions? Contact hiring@autoignitemanagement.com Please do not contact the shop directly, thank you!
