- Full-time Role Objective To provide high-quality automotive maintenance and repair for Chevrolet and GMC vehicles.
You will be responsible for diagnosing complex issues, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring every vehicle leaves the shop in a safe, reliable condition that meets both Wyatt's family-owned standards and GM factory specifications.
Primary Responsibilities Diagnostics & Repair:
Perform work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy. This includes engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, braking, and air conditioning systems.
Multi-Point Inspections:
Conduct thorough assessments of vehicle health (tires, fluids, brakes, battery) to identify required or recommended services.
Technology Integration:
Use GM-specific diagnostic tools and software to interface with vehicle computers and troubleshoot electronic malfunctions.
Communication:
Work closely with Service Advisors to provide accurate time and cost estimates. Document all work performed clearly for customer transparency.
Warranty Compliance:
Execute repairs under GM warranty guidelines, ensuring all documentation meets manufacturer requirements for reimbursement.
Quality Control:
Road-test vehicles to verify repairs and ensure "fixed right the first time" performance.
Required Qualifications Experience:
1+ years of automotive technician experience (Dealership experience preferred).
Licensing:
Must possess a valid Michigan Driver's License and a clean driving record.
Certification:
State of Michigan Mechanic License is required. ASE Certifications are highly preferred.
Tools:
Must have a personal set of basic automotive tools (specialized GM tools are provided by the shop).
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and maneuver under vehicles. Preferred Skills GM Factory Training or GM ASEP graduate. Proficiency in Diesel engine repair (Duramax). Knowledge of EV (Electric Vehicle) systems as GM expands its electric lineup. Why Work at Wyatt Chevrolet GMC?
