Job Description

Overview We are looking for a qualified automotive technician to join our shop. We are one of the top automotive service centers in Austin, MN. Our dynamic automotive team consists of several skilled technicians whose average tenure of 20 years. Join our great friendly team, that is based an hourly pay instead of commission based employment. Our team works collaboratively to complete the jobs efficiently and to high standards. We strive to deliver exceptional vehicle repair and maintenance services. In this role, you will utilize your mechanical expertise and technical proficiency to diagnose, repair, and service a wide range of vehicles, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Whether working on complex electrical systems or performing routine maintenance, your skills will drive customer satisfaction and uphold our commitment to automotive excellence. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics on vehicles using advanced automotive diagnostics tools to identify issues accurately. Repair and maintain various vehicle systems including powertrain, transmission, suspension, electrical wiring, and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems). Interpret automotive wiring diagrams and schematics to troubleshoot electrical and electronic components efficiently. Conduct vehicle maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake repairs, tire rotations, and alignment adjustments to ensure safety and reliability. Repair vehicle transmission systems and perform powertrain repairs to optimize vehicle performance. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools to execute repairs with precision. Communicate clearly with customers or service advisor about repair needs, estimates, and service procedures to enhance customer service experience. Qualifications Proven dealership or service center experience as an automotive technician or mechanic. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive repair across various systems of all makes and models of vehicles. Preferred but not required advanced knowledge of diesel engines. Proficiency in automotive diagnostics software and interpreting schematics for electrical systems. Experience with ADAS calibration, wheel alignment, suspension system repair, and vehicle transmission system repair. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and automotive electrical systems troubleshooting. Knowledge of auto estimating processes and excellent customer service skills are highly desirable. Valid technician certification(s) or relevant ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certifications preferred; experience with diesel engines is a plus.
