Kids on the GO is a Type III school bus company. We operate Dodge Caravans and Ford Transits in our fleet of about 70 vehicles. We are looking for a successful candidate who will work alongside our current Fleet Mechanic for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our fleet of equipment and vehicles. The ideal candidate will have experience in oil changes, brake repair, engine repair, with a strong background in mechanical systems. This role is perfect for a motivated and detail-oriented individual who is passionate about keeping equipment running smoothly and efficiently. In addition, we are looking for someone who has experience working on Chrysler/Dodge 3.6 liter engines and Ford Transit 3.5 liter engines. The ideal person will have a sense of purpose, must be a self starter and be comfortable with working independently with little supervision.
Responsibilities :
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles, including but not limited to Dodge Caravans and Ford Transits
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues, using diagnostic equipment and testing techniques
  • Conduct brake repairs and adjustments to ensure safe and efficient operation
  • Perform engine repairs, including diagnosis, disassembly, and reassembly
  • Complete tire changes and rotations, as needed
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs
  • Collaborate with local companies for parts delivery and onsite supervisors to ensure effective fleet management
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans to reduce downtime and extend equipment lifespan
Qualifications :
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ years of experience in vehicle maintenance and repair
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems
  • Experience with managing a fleet and maintenance schedule
  • Ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues
  • Experience with brake repair and adjustments
  • Experience with tire changes and rotations
  • Ability to lift, bend, and stand for long periods of time
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
